Job Description

What you will be working on:

Strategic IT Planning: Align IT investments and technology adoption with the organization\'s mission and vision to optimize efficiency and productivity, with a specific focus on data engineering technologies and practices. Project and Product Delivery Management: Monitor and manage the progress of various delivery tracks across data engineering projects and products, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement and Technical Consultancy: Collaborate with users within JTC and WOG agencies to gather requirements and business objectives. Provide expert technical consultancy and advice to support initiatives for new data products and enhancements to existing systems, emphasizing data engineering solutions. Change Management and IT Support: Manage change management processes, service requests, and enhancements. Address IT security risks and vulnerabilities, providing robust support for users with a focus on data security and privacy. IT Systems and Policies Review: Conduct regular reviews of IT systems, policies, and standards, ensuring relevance and adherence to policy requirements, with a particular emphasis on data governance and data management practices.

What we are looking for:

Educational Backgroun Qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Project Management, with a specializatios in data science or data engineering. Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in IT project management, with significant exposure to data engineering projects. Strategic and Project Management Expertise: Proven expertise in strategic planning, project management, and the ability to manage data engineering projects. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies; certification is advantageous. Data Engineering Skills: Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, big data technologies, and analytics platforms. Understanding of ETL processes and experience with cloud data services. Governance and Compliance: Knowledge of governance frameworks, business process management, and experience ensuring projects comply with IT security and governmental compliance requirements, especially those related to data. Risk Management and Problem Solving: Ability to analyze risk, address complex issues, and recommend effective actions, particularly in the context of data projects. Communication and Influence: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and influence stakeholders across all levels. Should have a clear ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Desirable Experience: Prior experience with data warehouse projects, data integration, and analytics initiatives will be considered an added advantage.
