Department overview:
The Project Portfolio Office consists of full time programme and project managers, business analysts and PMOs, with responsibility for global and/or cross-functional projects and programmes, as well as delivering projects for functions that do not have their own dedicated change teams.
The team provides consistent governance and oversight and is not functionally aligned, thereby ensuring impartiality when servicing multiple functions. We work closely with our stakeholders and sponsors in the line and maintain close working relationships with Technology partners, both internal and external.

Project description:

  • Nomura is undergoing a strategic transformation of its global HR function. Centred around the core objective of a cloud implementation, Nomura is taking the opportunity to review its Operating and Service Delivery Model, End to End process Design and technology offering to facilitate a better user experience
  • This role will focus on the implementation of 2 key deliverables
  • A new mobility strategy working with a vendor to deliver an outsourced mobility service for anyone looking to move within the firm
  • Development and Implementation of a Total Rewards Statement
Role description:
  • The role is based in Singapore and will have dual reporting into the Singapore based business lead and EMEA based programme manager
  • The PM will work closely with Mobility Lead, as well as with an external vendor to deliver an outsource mobility offering configured for Nomura\'s requirements
  • The PM will work with the Mobility lead to review and re-write the firm\'s mobility policy
  • The PM will also manage a dual role managing the delivery of the Total Rewards Statement, reporting up to the Global Head of Compensation
  • The PM will actively manage a second vendor for the delivery of the Total Rewards Statement
  • Responsible for co-ordinating project planning, oversight of documentation and sign offs, tracking and delivery of activities, and working according to the prescribed project governance framework
  • Responsible for planning and executing analytical tasks, including documentation of business and functional requirements and operating model working with an existing team of SMEs and BAs
  • Accountable for managing the vendor relationship with good, clear communications and ensuring strong collaboration between internal and external team members
  • Both attend and lead frequent meetings with the Project Team, Technology, SMEs and stakeholders
  • Maintain minutes and track actions, holding action owners accountable for delivery of key tasks
  • Communicate clearly with key stakeholders to update on the project\'s status and RAIDs, all of which require ongoing, proactive management
  • Assess and manage risks and issues, and escalate via the appropriate project and program governance structures
  • Create agenda and materials for senior stakeholder meetings
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
  • Minimum a Bachelor Degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum 8 years of project management experience at an Investment Bank
  • Minimum 2 years\' experience of working on HR Transformation programmes
  • Has experience working with an HR department and some understanding of the operating model for a Compensation department
  • Has experience working with an external vendor, and managing a vendor relationship
  • Has analytical skillset with ability to assimilate, translate and communicate business concepts and requirements
  • Has stakeholder management in order to drive the project forward and ensure milestones are met
  • Ability to adapt to business demands and act as a partner to facilitate delivery
  • Attention to detail and high quality standards relating to documentation, processes and the control environment are essential
  • Confident self-starter who can work under pressure, using their own initiative and with the drive to work to aggressive deadlines and to see tasks through to completion
  • Experience working to a project plan and delivering technology solutions on time
  • A sound understanding of the project life cycle and different project management methodologies
  • Ability to collaborate and work with offshore teams
  • Desire to challenge existing processes and drive forward change
  • Initiative and ability to think laterally
  • Essential to be highly competent in MS Office products
