PURPOSE

The Project Manager will be required to plan, manage, and undertake the work necessary across the project lifecycle to ensure successful delivery of assigned FWD projects.

The role requires the leadership of a cross-functional team to deliver the project objectives and participate in growth opportunities by initiating new projects, doing project delivery planning and risk mitigation plans, and managing internal resources across different functions.

KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES

Governance

  • Manage the projects according to the Group Transformation Governance Policy and Project Management Policy.
  • Ensure project scope, requirements, solution designs, testing results, project timeline, risks log, day 2 if applicable are properly managed and documented, and audit ready at all times.
  • Provide support to Project Sponsor which is accountable for success delivery of the project and Change Committee.
  • Ensure risk associated with all business decision are understood and managed effectively within agreed risk appetite.
Operational

Project Coordination:
  • Coordinate activities and work required to deliver projects within agreed scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Plan and schedule meetings and calls for designated projects.
  • Monitor and report project progress to Project Sponsors, business leads and Change Committee.
  • Provide project updates to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain project documentations and reports.
  • Discuss issues identified and identify solutions with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure that change request and day 2 items are properly managed and delivered within agreed timeline.
Project Delivery Approach:
  • Utilise different project delivery approaches (Waterfall or Agile project approach) with relevance to the respective projects.
  • Work closely with other Project Managers to manage and achieve key project initiatives.
People
  • Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to direct reports to ensure competency.
  • Manage team resource to ensure clear responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in any discipline
  • Relevant formal certification in project management preferred.
  • Agile certified preferred
  • At least 5 years proven track record in project management
  • Experience in working in insurance industry
  • Experience in delivering change project to agreed timeframe that involves multiple key stakeholders such as external vendor, business stakeholders and system providers
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY

Business Knowledge
  • Experience in running life and GI insurance projects required
  • Experience in managing life product launches
  • Good business acumen.
  • Good understanding of life and GI business, and systems/platforms.
  • Experience in applying Agile methodology.
Portfolio Management Office Skills
  • Good understanding of change management methods, tools, and techniques
  • Ability to gather detailed information and compile summary reports for various audiences
Project Management Skills
  • Experience in managing and successfully delivery multi workstream projects.
  • Expertise in project mechanics; flexibility and pragmatism in the application of these mechanics
  • Ability to translate business issues/challenges into effective/creative project solutions.
  • Ability to assess and manage risks at a project/sub-project level.
  • Good interpersonal skill and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to translate business issues/challenges into effective/creative project management solutions
  • Strong communication skills and presentation skills.
Management Skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix management environment
  • Ability to manage teams on a day-to-day basis.
  • Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills, particularly working with senior stakeholders from across the organizations and ability to manage expectations.
Technology Skills
  • Proficient with MS Project. MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint and Gantt Chart
  • Use of Confluence and JIRA
