Job Description

Job Title: Purchaser cum Technical Assistance

Supplier Sourcing and Management:


Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors for marine provisions, spare parts, safety equipment, and other chandler goods. Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure favourable terms and continuous supply. Maintain record of HSE Assessment of the vendors as per company's policy. Maintain and update vendor list.
Procurement Planning:





Monitor inventory levels and forecast procurement needs based on vessel schedules and client demands. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure stock availability. Develop procurement plans aligned with company budgets and operational requirements. Maintain Ship's budget variance.
Order Placement and Follow-up:


Take quotations and carry out comparison as per company's policy Prepare purchase orders and send them to suppliers. Track orders to ensure timely delivery and resolve any delays or issues. Ensure all deliveries meet quality standards and specifications.
Cost Control and Record-Keeping:





Analyse cost trends and seek opportunities for cost reduction. Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and supplier performance.



Compliance and Documentation:


Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.




Supporting Technical Department:


Providing support to the technical department. Assist with preparing and maintaining repair database and compilation of technical specifications. Assist with the preparation of technical reports. Assist in compiling and monitoring technical KPIs and deliverables. Ensure the technical drawings, manuals, plans, reports, certificates and documents are accurate and well maintained in a systematic database. Assist in ad-hoc projects as assigned



Requirements:


Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field. 5-7 years of related experience, preferably in the maritime or ship management industry. Experience with purchasing systems will be an added advantage. Strong communication skills, proven project management abilities, and a collaborative team-player mindset. Willingness to travel for short assignments, as required by projects. Flexibility to work outside normal office hours to accommodate projects across different time zones. * Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
