The Opportunity:Adecco is partnering with a global company providing advanced technologies, instruments, and services in the life sciences, diagnostics, and applied markets, and we are seeking to hire a Purchasing Specialist to join their business for a 6-months maternity cover! Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, the successful incumbent will manage purchase orders, monitor material delivery, track inventory, oversee supplier performance, and handle excess and obsolete inventory.

• 6 months contract for a maternity cover
• Work location: Boon Lay
• Work hours: Mondays - Fridays, 9am - 6pm with a hybrid work model
• Basic salary up to $5,500 + 1/2 month completion bonus
• Benefits as per full-time employee, pro-rated accordingly

The Job:

• Collaborate with Planning Department to meet demand requirements
• Ensure timely release and delivery of purchase orders
• Monitor material deliveries to prevent shortages based on the SIOP plan
• Perform weekly checks to meet raw material inventory targets
• Track and manage supplier performance
• Review excess and obsolete inventory; manage last-time buys to reduce obsolescence risk
• Drive process improvements to boost performance and satisfaction

The Talent:

• At least 4-5 years of indirect purchasing experience in life sciences, diagnostics, applied sciences or the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in SAP system will be highly advantageous
