JOB TITLE: QA SUPERVISOR, CHEMICAL LAB, MFG SG SPE ORG UNIT NAME: ULTEM POLYMER PLANT LOCATION: SINGAPORE
JOB PURPOSE
Management of product quality release for ULTEM resin products.
Complete oversight of laboratory operations, encompassing scheduling, personnel management, equipment upkeep, adherence to regulatory standards and quality assurance.
Review and ensure compliance with SOP for chemical and physical properties analyses, maintain quality control procedures, monitor analysis accuracy and lead improvement initiatives.
SAP/LIMS system QM data and batch data support.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Laboratory Management
Take overall responsibility for managing the chemical laboratory, include scheduling, staffing, and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies
Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth and optimal operation with effective use of resources, adherence to safety & environmental protocols, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards
Responsible for measurement system reliability, coordinate routine instrument calibration, maintenance to ensure proper functionality, and troubleshoot any issues when needed. Communicate with external vendors for repair service, calibration and PM arrangement.
Update, revise, and maintain the Laboratory\'s Quality Assurance Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and other quality documents.
Support off specs and internal rejects investigation and propose CAPA. Keeps stakeholders fully aware of significant occurrences and trends that impact the quality of product or manufacturing operations.
Prepare and present accurate and timely reports on laboratory operations, test results, and key performance indicators to management. In charge of the proper final product release & Certificate of Analysis (CoA) issue.
Support chemical license application, control and disposal process.
Analytical and Troubleshooting
Review chemical and physical properties analysis results to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and offer batch adjustments to the operation team as required during production process.
Conduct and support laboratory root cause(s) investigation on laboratory equipment failure and result abnormalities. Take initiative to conduct preparation and laboratory analysis on unusual test results to determine the cause of the non-conformance and correct.
Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures, including analyses performance assessment, documentation, and review of laboratory data to ensure accurate and reliable results. Application of statistical methods and tools for comparison and performance verification. Monitor control charts to identify need for new standards or instrument maintenance.
Monitor and ensure right-first-time and target turnaround time of lab analyses.
Lead and coordinate new method development and validation as well as ad-hoc analyses request as required.
Sustainability
Deliver educational and training sessions for new comers and team members, fostering skill enhancement and professional development.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, global technologist, and other plants located overseas, to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities for process improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Regular QA meetings attend and participate/feedback
Conduct calibration and preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is functioning correctly; troubleshoot any issues when needed. Communicate with external vendors for repair service, calibration and PM arrangement.
Maintain consistency and stock for QA items available.
Organize QA training for the team when required.
EHSS compliance & Legislations
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the QA team, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations, procedures, and protocols.
Participate actively in EHS activities.
Administrate SHEM Element and complete Documentation and Internal audit per schedule without miss.
Support 5S activities in Lab and Housekeeping inspections.
Support required Risk Assessments. Ensure risk assessments are done and documented, risk reduced ALARP in Quality.
Support Management of Change (MOC) policy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor Degree from a chemistry and relevant discipline
Minimum of 5 years of relevant QA operation experience in chemical laboratory of chemical/polymer manufacturing plant.
Good knowledge on principle of chemical analysis in chemical laboratory
Hands-on experience in chemical analyses
Able establish SOP, risk assessment, RCCA, customer audit checklist.
Fundamentals of Engineering Plastics product quality
Good communication and analytical skills
Good Knowledge of statistics and data analysis
Ability to Manage projects and work in a team
Good computer proficiency.
