The QAQC Specialist for Data Centre Project Management plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability in the construction of mission-critical data centre facilities. This position is responsible for implementing and overseeing comprehensive quality assurance and quality control processes throughout the project stage, from initial design to final commissioning and handoverThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in data centre infrastructure, electrical and mechanical systems, and project management methodologies. They will work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to develop and enforce quality standards, conduct regular inspections, and maintain detailed documentation of all quality-related activitiesYou will work closely with all the stakeholders in establishing rigorous quality control processes, the QAQC Specialist contributes significantly to the successful delivery of high-performance, reliable data centre facilities that meet or exceed client requirements and industry standardsYour specific duties and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Developing and implementing quality management plans and procedures specific to data centre construction and operations.
  • Establishing and maintaining quality standards for all aspects of the project, including design, construction, equipment installation, and commissioning.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Holds the relevant stakeholders accountable for requirements per the contractors QA/QC Plan
  • Review of documentation including project documentation (drawings, RFIs, submittals), vendor/subcontractor QC plans and method statements, completed QC documentation.
  • Monitor the FWT/FAT process and ensure Factory Witness Test (FWTs) are attended by necessary parties, and the necessary documentation is submitted for Factory Acceptance Test (FATs). Participate in FWTs if directed by Lead Project Manager / Director.
  • Ensure project Quality and Commissioning issues are being reported in the projects designated platform. Ensure issues are being resolved satisfactorily and in a timely manner. Escalate unresolved issues to Lead PM / Director as necessary.
  • Participates actively in all Quality meetings. Participates in other project level coordination meetings as required
  • Overseeing testing and commissioning of critical systems such as power distribution, cooling, fire suppression, and network infrastructure.
  • Managing and coordinating with third-party inspectors and testing agencies.
  • Reviewing and approving construction documents, submittals, and change orders to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Identifying and documenting non-conformances and working with project teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Maintaining detailed records of all quality-related activities, including test results, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Providing regular quality reports to project stakeholders and management.
  • Ensuring proper training of staff and subcontractors on quality requirements and procedures.
  • Collaborating with project managers and other team members to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
  • Overseeing the implementation of safety protocols to ensure they align with quality standards.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of equipment and systems during the warranty period.
  • Conducting root cause analysis for any quality-related failures or incidents.
  • Staying updated on industry best practices and regulations related to data centre construction and operations.
  • Participating in project closeout activities, ensuring all quality documentation is complete and properly archived.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives by analysing quality data and recommending process enhancements
  • To support the company and department in the pursuit of new business opportunities and broad-based business development and contribute to the achievement of the company and departments business financial targets.
