Industrial Fiber Products Division (IFPD):

Broadcom\xe2\x80\x99s IFPD division is an international player, with several offices around the globe, one of them located in Singapore. We focus on the development and production of high volume fiber optic transceivers and optical sensors for industrial and automotive applications. We are a worldwide leader in industrial fiber optics and continuously expand our product portfolio to address emerging markets.

Broadcom Singapore:

Broadcom offices are located in Yishun, in the northern part of Singapore. It houses both, research & development and manufacturing activities, which supports Broadcom\xe2\x80\x99s wide range of semi-conductor and infrastructure software solutions.

We intend to strengthen our R&D team and offer the permanent position of a test engineer for final module test, senior level, based in Singapore.

You will become a member of a multi-disciplinary team contributing to research & development projects for new high volume and cost efficient optoelectronic transceiver and sensor products. You will focus on the development of device testing at module level.

Job description:

• Definition of test requirements and test methods for our optical data transceivers as well as our optical sensor products. Preparation of the test spec and test limits with sufficient guard band.
• Planning and purchasing of the required test equipment.
• Development, bring up and debugging of test hardware and software for device production testing. This can be either completely in-house or in cooperation with external engineering partners.
• Design and realization of additional test HW as test application PCBs and test sockets.
• Preparation of the detailed test documentation.
• Handover of completed test systems to the production site or external test houses and final buyoff.
• Evaluation, analysis and reporting of production test results along with creation of production relevant reports.
• Close cooperation with the product-designers, NPI team and production site/test house throughout the entire project phase.
• Optimization of productive final module testing based on the analysis of characterization data and test data in order to achieve cost-efficient test solutions.

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline with focus on semiconductor devices and/or electrical/optical testing and measurement technology.
• 3+ years of experience in semiconductor testing.

Desired skills and expertise:

• Deep technical expertise in the area of testing and/or measurement technology.
• Experience with discrete test/measurement equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, pattern generators, SMUs, spectrum analyzers, optical power meters, etc.).
• Strong programming skills with LabVIEW, NI TestStand, Python, MATLAB, C++, C#, Java or similar software.
• Good technical background in semiconductors.
• Familiar with analysis of test- or measurement data using MS Excel or more specific statistical data analysis tools (e.g. Minitab, MatLab or Statistica).
• Both a self-contained, accurate approach to work and a broad interest in interdisciplinary work at the interface of electronics, optics, fiber-technology and communication systems.
• Project experience and ability to integrate into teams across different functions and locations.

General Requirements:

• Spoken and written proficiency in English.
• Interface to customers as well as to suppliers, travel requirement up to 25% of the time, depending on project needs. Need to be a good team player.
