We are seeking a Regas and Cargo Handling Junior Superintendent to oversee the design, conversion, commissioning, and testing phases of regasification and cargo handling systems for an FSRU conversion project. This key role ensures technical compliance, safety, and project timelines related to LNG regasification systems and cargo operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Management:
Assist and support regas and cargo handling workstreams during the FSRU conversion.
Assist and support installation, integration, and commissioning of LNG regasification modules, cargo handling systems, and related equipment.
Review and validate detailed engineering deliverables (P&IDs, process flow diagrams, equipment specs).
Assist and support seamless interface between topside regas units, cargo tanks, and marine systems.
Technical Review & Compliance:
Provide subject matter expertise on LNG regasification technologies, high-pressure send-out systems, and BOG (Boil-Off Gas) handling.
Assist and support technical specifications, FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests).
Monitor adherence to Class, Flag, and international codes (e.g., IGC Code, IGF Code, SIGTTO guidelines).
Supervision & Coordination:
Oversee contractors and shipyard activities related to regasification and cargo system modifications.
Liaise with OEMs, EPC contractors, Class societies, and marine consultants to ensure alignment.
Support safety reviews such as HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL assessments.
Testing & Commissioning:
Participate in commissioning, performance testing, and readiness planning for operational handover.
Provide input for O&M procedures, crew training, and long-term maintenance strategies.
Ensure proper documentation of as-built systems, change orders, and punch lists
Documentation & Handover:
Assist and support E&I documentation control including redlining of drawings, as-built records, and punch list management.
Provide technical input to operating manuals and maintenance procedures.
Assist in training and technical handover to the operations team
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Class 1 Marine Engineer license (preferred), minimum Class 3 Engineering license
Experienced FSRU Cargo Engineer background
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in LNG shipping
At least 3 years of direct experience in FSRU operation.
Deep knowledge of cryogenic systems, LNG regasification processes, and cargo transfer operations.
Skills:
Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and control philosophies.
Familiar with international maritime codes and safety standards.
Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
Proficient using English as work language.
