We realize the full power of a global, diverse workforce. We are looking for a Regional Category Manager to support Agilent Flow/Optics/Special Supply Chain category business. You will be ensuring supply chain resilience and continuity while meeting key performance indexes in quality, delivery, and cost. You will be a critical link between supplier and Agilent internal Instrument Manufacturing teams. You will lead and manage initiatives and projects critical to the category strategy development and implementation as necessary. You will have great demands for hands-on financial numbers and details, and yet the ability to use tactical means as appropriate and seeing the strategic big pictures. A Day in the Life The Regional Category Manager works under limited supervision and is to play multiple active roles in working with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Lead purchasing strategy for commodities:

  • Align with the partner and stakeholder on requirements of purchasing strategies
  • Required to provide and supply inputs to the global strategy per category and/or subcategories
  • Define action plan to support strategy execution, including supply base optimization & regionalization and support on regular update/review on deployment
  • Lead and manage regional and global initiatives and projects critical to category strategy
Define and guarantee commodities performance:
  • Deliver cost savings, delivery and quality performance of the supplier
  • Build, follow-up and observe the global as well as local procurement action plans
  • Participate in the elaboration of the global and local procurement budgets plan of record
  • Deep understanding of business, generate ideas and initiatives pipe to deliver strategic goals, optimize working capital needs, decrease the level of inventories, decrease the administrative cost (number of PO and invoices)
Supplier base management:
  • Consulting, negotiating, select and contract the supplier on every need of the commodity, building a resilient yet flexible supply base
  • Owner of supplier relationship management(SRM/SRO) to assigned suppliers
  • Handling Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA) and Supply framework Purchase agreements, VMI/VOI, Supplier payment terms, Performance agreements
  • Handling supplier QCD Performance. Optimize supplier performance including continuous improvement.
  • Supplier base rationalization and optimization
Risk Analysis:
  • Conduct appropriate risk analysis; identify options and work to minimize risk from impacting business
  • Supplier Financial Commitment Reporting, overall accountability for reporting and representing data from suppliers
  • Address supply chain risk by improving coverage of addressable spend under long term contract, vindication buffer inventory planning


Requirements:

  • Bachelors or University Degree within business or engineering preferred
  • 8 years of relevant working experience in strategic direct procurement, supplier management
  • Knowledge of leading-edge procurement practices, commodity strategies, contract negotiation and business law
  • Project/program management skills/tools mastery
  • Financial and analytical skills/tools to evaluate the total cost and suppliers, (statistics, cost accounting, computer spreadsheets, flowcharting, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to represent Agilent Global Procurement to suppliers, relate and communicate effectively across different levels & geographies.
  • Ability to work in different teams, multiple and regional time zones
  • Flexibility to accommodate and support short/long term change/assignment
  • Proven self-leadership and ability to handle multiple projects that are handle deadline-oriented, interruptions, and adaptable to changing tasks or environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Ariba
