About the role

The International Business sits within the Institutional Bank and oversees the relationship management with institutional clients in 18 markets across Asia, the Middle East, the UK, Europe and the United States.

As the Head of Financial Institutions Group for South East Asia, India & Middle East (SEAIME) you will be responsible for maximising business profitability from local and global FIG clients operating in the region by implementing and executing the Global FIG strategy. Your role is key to the Institutional strategy with coverage of priority sectors across one of ANZ\'s International regions. Your role requires strong people and industry leadership, with an emphasis on developing and expanding the market position by maximising both local & international revenue opportunities. Strong knowledge & experience of Risk Management is essential coupled with experience in FIG Relationship Management or products and demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Your key accountabilities in this role

Growing the FIG business through leading the regional team, developing and driving regional strategies, direct deal engagement, senior client sponsorship & managing regional credit and non-credit risks.

Develop and maintain internal relationships with key stakeholders including regional and country management, product partners and your FI team counterparts around the world in order to deliver an efficient global account coverage program, as well as your R&A and Credit partners.

Lead client relationships to achieve maximum returns as well as top and bottom line revenue targets for Financial Institutions client set.

Lead discussions with Product Partners, R&A team and other stakeholders as required to define/ establish credit requirements, including deal structuring and risk mitigation.

Strong engagement, collaboration, communication and influencing skills with all stakeholders including country heads, product partners and risk colleagues.

About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you\'ll ideally bring the following:

  • Experience in working with Financial Institutions coverage including managing a portfolio of FI clients, demonstrable business development skills and relationship coverage of sophisticated clients.
  • A demonstrated competence in key lending, transaction banking, financial markets and structured finance capabilities of relevance to the financial institutions sector which will be used in the execution of your responsibilities
  • Strong credit/ risk assessment skills acquired through corporate/ investment banking background.
  • Strong team player with demonstrated ability to build solid internal and external relationships
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interface with clients at both management and working level.
  • The ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, anchoring your approach in ANZ\'s values and leadership behaviours. This includes a reputation for coaching, encouraging curiosity and investing in people development.
