Position Summary


The Regional Head of Legal and General Counsel Asia Pacific is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and delivery of the Allianz Partners APAC Legal team.
10+ years post admission experience gained in private practice and in-house.


Admitted to practise law in one or more jurisdictions of the Asia Pacific Region, with a strong grounding in financial services law, commercial contracting, and corporate governance.
Strong leadership capability and demonstrated experience leading high-performance teams.


Key responsibilities include:

• The day-to-day operational leadership of the Allianz Partners APAC Legal team.
• Deliver a platform for the provision of superior legal services to all parts of the Allianz Partners business across Asia Pacific to support the execution of the corporate strategy and facilitate sustainable, lawful business growth.
• Provide solution-oriented legal advice to key internal stakeholders (sales, product, underwriting, operations, and others) on legal matters related to all parts of the insurance/service value chain, including distribution, product development, outsourcing topics.
• Provide strategic legal and governance advice to the Allianz Partners APAC CEO and Leadership team.
• Develop, mentor, and empower a team of Legal and Corporate Secretariat professionals across APAC.
• Contribute and lead as a member of the Allianz Partners Global legal leadership team.
• Support Global Allianz Partners and Allianz SE initiatives from time to time as required.
• Build strong trust-based relationships with peers across the broader Allianz Group.
• Leading a best in class in house legal team that provides independent, timely, strategic legal and governance advice to support the execution of Allianz Partners\xe2\x80\x99 APAC strategy.
• Provide clear and succinct professional written and oral legal advice that supports the strategic objectives of Allianz Partners\xe2\x80\x99 APAC region and drives lawful, sustainable business growth.
• Develop standard legal documentation and deploy efficiency initiatives across the legal function within the APAC region.
• Actively manage the APAC legal team budget to target; and
• Ensure effective roll-out and compliance with the Allianz Partners Corporate Rule Book, policies, and procedures in the APAC region.

As the successful candidate for this Regional Head of Legal and General Counsel Asia Pacific position, you\'ll be able to demonstrate:

• Experience working with regulators across BAU and enforcement / investigation matters
• Knowledge of a wide variety of substantive legal disciplines, including corporate law, insurance, supervisory, contract and litigation processes
• Lead functional team of insurance lawyers and give guidance on work targets
• Provide Legal advice on complex regulatory and legal advice on complex matters which is simple and digestible for business audiences across all layers of the organisation.
• Relevant experience establishing legal panel arrangements to drive value and service excellence from legal service providers
• Compliance experience working within highly regulated industries and a 3 LOD framework
