Regional HSE Manager - Environment & Sustainability

The Regional HSE Manager will serve as the subject matter expert and technical leader for HSE programs for APAC Region.This position sets strategic direction and ensures that relevant HSE programs are established and executed consistently across the region. Activities will focus on subjects such as, but not limited to: Ecological Assessment project, Environmental Protection, Sustainability (e.g. GHG, water scarcity, waste reduction), HSE in divestment and other similar subject areas.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development and roll-out of HSE programs and systems, procedures, guidelines, trainings, and other support materials that will ensure compliance with company and legal requirements of all Bayer operations in APAC. Activities are but not limited to: Ecological Assessment project, Environmental Protection, Sustainability (e.g. GHG, water scarcity, waste reduction), HSE in divestment and other similar subject areas.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with multi-disciplinary groups, such as Regional HSE, Site HSE and SSHE leadership teams, and technical personnel to establish cost effective and appropriate measures to reduce risks, comply with HSE regulations, and to realize established objectives.
  • Lead Environmental Protection Community in APAC, provide environmental protection subject matter consulting and expert advice for all operations, such as Pharmaceuticals in Environment, environmental impact and aspect assessment, wastewater and air emission control solutions, soil and groundwater contamination prevention program, etc.
  • Lead APAC sites on environmental reporting and data validation, conduct annual data analysis for improvement opportunities in terms of environmental protection governance and sustainability goals.
  • Implement AI in wastewater risk evaluation and mitigation program for all business in APAC as required -training, monitor and communicate the progress, facilitate the program for sustained progress; support to develop bayer water strategy and support region implementation with business.
  • Partnering all business establish and contribute success of sustainability roadmap, provide technical consultation including facilitating APAC sustainability community, organizing workshops, onsite support.
  • Conduct HSE audits and ensure implementation of regional audit plans, follow up implementation of corrective actions as required.
  • Proactive act role of regional SSHE change management team to support LT with ideating, executing and assessing the results of improvement suggestions.
WHO YOU ARE:
  • Hold a university degree in Environmental Engineering with 5+ years of professional business experience with growing responsibilities and proven HSE experience or knowledge of HSE-related processes.
  • Has a good understanding of business needs and challenges with analytical decision-making and creative thinking skills
  • Possess strong leadership skills and is experienced in handling critical issues with a high degree of reliability and integrity
  • Able to help and grow business by innovative contributions to existing and future strategic initiatives
  • Values Differences, Business Insights, Plans & Aligns, Manages Complexity, Collaborates, Drives Results
  • Possess strong communication, influencing and problem solving skills and fluent in English
