Job summary
Do you want to help learners prepare for the cloud-enabled workforce of tomorrow? AWS Education to Workforce (Southeast Asia/ASEAN) is looking for an innovative, driven Regional Lead to scale the reach and impact of our programs and drive for employment outcomes in the region.

AWS Education to Workforce team is responsible for coordinating with state, province, and country leaders to define, design, and implement a comprehensive strategy to develop a cloud-ready workforce in each country. Our Education to Workforce team is a global team and the scope of this role will focus on ASEAN. The ideal candidate will be acting as the regional leader for strategic business development in driving education to workforce agenda, activities, country level strategic planning and all relevant high-stake and high-level mission tasks.

You will work closely with AWS Public Sector, AWS Education Programs team and other internal stakeholders to establish and maintain relationships with senior government, education, and workforce officials in your territory, understanding their workforce needs and successfully implementing AWS education, training programs, and services to help them prepare a cloud-ready workforce in their markets.

You will be responsible for developing opportunity pipelines, evangelizing workforce offerings, and driving successful adoption and implementation of related education and workforce-readiness programs (e.g AWS Educate, Academy) within the government, organizations, and education institutions.

Key job responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders (e.g. faculty, curriculum leads, education and government leaders, and employers) and internal teams (e.g. product, marketing, content, membership, recruiting).

Drive successful implementation, including curriculum and program development; educator professional development; employer engagement; collaboration with government, non-profit organizations, and other workforce development intermediary organizations.

Work closely with institution program developers and faculty to structure and align academic program

Facilitate regional planning and implementation, including needs assessments, strategic planning, localization, and progress monitoring.

Capture insights and best practices to enhance the model, with an emphasis on efficiency and scale.

Coordinate with other Amazon teams (e.g. AWS EDU sales, Public Policy, AWS Partner Network) to maximize regional impact.

Work with US and international leaders and program managers to understand and address programmatic, curricular and UX pain points related to implementation.

Manage program deliverables within budgetary, resource and scheduling requirements against defined project milestones and deadlines.

Be the voice of the customer, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of our content efforts and help our team iterate and improve on our content offering.

About the team
E2W is a global team which covers all countries where AWS has operations in. In this role, you are expected to lead the ASEAN region as the regional leader, set and guide your team to develop regional strategies, maintain close working relationship with cross-functional and business teams. The ASEAN region currently has team coverage in (but not exclusive to) Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5-7 years of experience negotiating, coordinating, and deploying project and program implementation in public or private sector.
Proven experience in working with education systems at the government or institutional level.
Exposure to IT industry training programs and certification offerings, and related workforce readiness projects or initiatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to write complex business documents.
Relationship management skills, with established experience at a senior management or CXO level.
Ability to operate independently, manage and design programs and projects in a highly ambiguous and complex environment.
Experience across functional and technical areas designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large scale projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years in education, government or Tech sector, with exposure or experience in country/state level skills development and workforce skilling initiatives.
Plus if comes with technology-related sales or business development to state, province, or country level government leaders.
A background in education, public policy, business development, or workforce development.
Proven track of record working with decision makers in tertiary institutions, governments, enterprises, startups and etc.
Willingness to delve in to details, monitor implementation and enablement activity metrics, and determine corrective action.
Experience in education, career preparation counseling, workforce development, recruitment, HR or related field is a plus.
Familiarity with the AWS platform, cloud computing, web services, software development, or related technologies.
