Regional Logistics Manager (Contract)

The Regional Logistics Manager in Regional Supply Chain Management (RSCM) Asia plays a pivotal role in the region warehouse and last mile transportation agenda, supporting both Pharmaceutical (PH) & Consumer Health (CH) divisions. This role reports into the Head of WHTLM, Operations Asia. Partnering with both global and country teams, this role identifies opportunities, lead and drive continuous improvement cost savings initiatives to deliver value to the business. This role also manages and monitors warehouse and last mile transport KPIs of logistics service providers and distributors, and tracks the movement of Asia warehouse & EOF costs. In addition, this role may support and/or lead various warehouse and last mile transport topics.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with global and country teams to drive continuous improvement & sustainability agenda, for secondary warehouses and last mile transportation
  • Identify, drive and roll-out continuous improvement cost savings initiatives
  • Identify, drive and roll-out process improvement, new technology, automation tools etc. to drive efficiency
  • Maintain visibility and drive project overview and status
  • Manage and monitor warehouse and transportation operations KPIs of the logistics service providers and distributors within Asia, drive KPIs improvement and prepare for QBR.
  • Monitor and report WH / EOF costs & corresponding effects on regular basis
  • Coordinate and liaise with country team and source DC for wholesaler licences and ship-to changes requirements
  • Provide support to tender/bidding process, model changes and review of SOP
  • Support workshops with country SCM and logistics service providers to work out key initiatives, best practice sharing and improvement opportunities
  • Provide visibility relating to Asia warehouse and last mile transportation, and prepare update to RSCM Asia leadership team
  • Monitor disruptions or early signs of disruptions (e.g. covid, natural disaster, strikes etc.), and support business continuity & risk management
WHO YOU ARE:
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration or comparable qualification and/or working experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations and/or end-to-end supply chain.
  • Previous experience or exposure in a regional (Asia) or multi-country capacity is required.
  • Strong analytic skills, ability to work with complex data to build clear recommendations and translate into actions to drive changes.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and demonstrated strong leadership in improving and/or optimizing processes leading to cost savings
  • Prior experience in digital work relating to supply chain and/or keen interests to propel digital capability in Bayer
  • Strong project management, communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
  • Good knowledge of PH, CH and RAD supply chain.
  • Deep understanding of warehouse operations and transportation.
  • Good knowledge of systems (SAP etc.), visualization tool (Power BI, Tableau etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders of various levels.
  • APICS certification is preferred.
  • Fluent in English, another language is an advantage
  • This is a 2 year contract role under an External Agency.
