As the Regional Manager Risk and Resiliency, you will develop, manage and scale a team of risk and due diligence specialists focused on site selection and site due diligence for new and existing AWS regions across the APJC (Asia Pacific, Japan and China) region. You will be responsible for identifying and analyzing site development, hazard, and liability risks associated with prospective data center sites and evaluating their potential impact on project feasibility, cost, and schedule, as well as data center availability and durability.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong track record of program management experience, the demonstrated ability to effectively lead and develop small, high-performance teams to deliver multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, the ability to drive alignment across teams with competing priorities, and be a strong advocate for risk management.

Key job responsibilities

• Guide the expansion of AWS infrastructure and services in new and existing regions within APJC by conducting site selection risk analysis and due diligence assessments
• Assess, challenge and draw conclusions from a wide range of real estate, engineering, construction, policy, environment, planning, and business development considerations
• Review and prioritize risk-based mitigation recommendations, partnering with internal stakeholders to secure funding and manage projects to successful resolution
• Coordinate internal teams and manage relationships with consultants and external subject matter experts
• Present assessment results to stakeholders and leaders throughout the business to drive alignment on risk management strategies
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, driving efficiencies, and developing initiatives to improve AWS\' management of risk and speed of execution
• Develop, monitor, and report on internal metrics, goals, and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement
• Align regional processes with global risk management and site due diligence standards
• Develop, coach, scale and manage the performance of the regional Risk and Resiliency team APJC
• Develop and manage the performance of external vendors in conjunction with the Data Center Services Procurement team
• Act as the single escalation point for site risk-related matters
• Own budget and headcount planning; effectively manage to approved budgets and resource allocations

• BA/BS degree from an accredited university or equivalent professional experience
• 10+ years\' project or program management experience
• 10+ years\' experience in infrastructure construction, engineering, environmental science, or risk management
• 2+ years\' experience of building and leading high-performance teams
• Demonstrated ability as a Project Manager who can prioritize workload and manage complex projects within cost and schedule
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with senior leadership
• Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
• Proven track record of sound decision making, taking ownership, and delivering results in a leadership role
• Highly proficient in MS Office
• Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to overcome obstacles and deliver results
• Some travel may be required (&lt25%)

• Datacenter operations, design, construction, technical due diligence, or risk assessment experience strongly preferred
• Master\'s degree from an accredited university in relevant subject
