Medical will build scientific expertise to provide greater insight for effective strategy and planning while driving a significant external presence to support strong engagement in the highly competitive Oncology space.Job PurposeThe Regional Medical Lead role is a unique opportunity for an experienced, innovative, and proactive medical affairs professional to provide medical affairs vision and leadership for GSK\xe2\x80\x99s Greater China & Intercontinental (GCI) region medical strategy for the Oncology Therapeutic Area. The successful candidate of the role will enable delivery and execution of medical affairs plans based on understandings of the global strategies, the multi-dimensional environments in the GCI countries focusing on external engagements, insight gathering, data gap analysis in the areas of unmet medical needs and regional and country level evidence generation activities to close these gaps.This is a regional medical leadership position for the Oncology Therapeutic Area and the successful candidate will be accountable for providing the leadership in the region for the Oncology TA, including regional (Leadership Team) LT representation. The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring the regional medical organization for Oncology TA has the right capacity and capabilities and for performance of the medical operational plans and evidence generation for countries in the region. This role will represent the region on both the global franchise medical team and appropriate commercial leadership teams.Key responsibilities:

  • Accountable, in collaboration with the Regional Medical Head of Specialty Care and Oncology, for driving the development, implementations and execution of globally and commercially aligned Oncology Medical Plans across the region. (S)he is accountable for medical plan development and strategic deployment of all medical resources to achieve joint objectives.
  • Acts as the medical partner to the Regional Therapeutic Commercial Organisation and the voice of the region to the Global Medical Franchise/TA Head and R&D Therapeutic Head.
  • Ensures the patients\xe2\x80\x99 needs, medical voice of the customer and market dynamics are understood and synthesized into medical insights and clearly translated into appropriate actions to enable appropriate use of our medicines for patients in the region.
  • Oversee Phase IIIb/IV clinical development plans in the region by providing a consolidated regional perspective into long-term global clinical and value evidence strategies. Advocate for medical resources/data needed to support successful commercialization of products.
  • Lead the scientific and external engagement strategy for the Oncology TA within the region in collaboration with key stakeholders, in partnership with the local and global medical and cross-functional teams.
  • Enable a performance driven culture with clear metrics and business improvement embedded into the organization and be accountable for metrics to measure and communicate Therapeutic Medical Affairs activities to demonstrate the value and achievements.
  • Be recognized as a trusted partner with commercial providing medical guidance and input and aligning and supporting promotional engagement strategy.
  • Ensures Regional Therapeutic Medical uptake into multi-channel media.
  • Accountable for Medical input and scrutiny into launch excellence processes, launch improvement workshops and LOC deep dives.
  • Leadership responsibility for Regional Oncology Medical, including talent acquisition and development.

  • Medical Degree preferred, with specialization in oncology.
  • Strong medical affairs experience in the field of oncology/hematology spanning clinical development and medical affairs with product launch experience.
  • Solid knowledge of drug development, safety, regulatory/ market access, and reimbursement requirements.
  • Strong organizational planning and business acumen skills.
  • Local country experience commercializing new medicines.
  • Above country leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategy development and delivery.
