Regional Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company network to facilitate the Global Network and the Virtualized infrastructure necessary to support the global applications. This includes configuring and installing networking equipment, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the smooth operation of the network. In addition, he/she will provide feedback, suggestions, troubleshooting, and guidance to worldwide system/network administrators and global IT support groups. Documents, tracks, and monitors any related problems to ensure a nearly 100% system uptime. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, with experience in routing, switching, and security. You should also possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the Global Network design, configuration, monitoring process documentation, and Operational support of Global Network
  • Serves as a technical resource to IT Helpdesk Team
  • Assist in performing necessary steps for testing new business application software releases and corrective codes on Desktop computers, and servers supplied by the Worldwide Development team and approved vendors.
  • Provide individual and group instruction, as needed, on the use of equipment, software, and network features.
  • Assist with preparing and providing necessary project information to support the Worldwide IT strategy.
  • Work with cross-function organization teams to ensure the coordination of resources for technology projects and that all services have needed information regarding the implementation of technology.
  • Work closely with local country/region-based IT functions to implement global initiatives.
  • Work closely with local country-based IT functions to support, maintain, and enhance the regional IT Infrastructure.
  • Manage and lead hardware, software, and network migration and upgrade efforts of varying size and complexity.
  • Implement appropriate systems management and operational support tools
  • System failure analysis and recovery; ensuring the consistency and integrity of all systems and networks.
  • Manage Third Party vendors for delivery of Infrastructure and services.
  • Provide L3 technical support across all systems and core infrastructure with multiple Points of Presence that are geographically dispersed
  • Out-of-hours will be required as part of this position.
  • International travel will be required as part of this position.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by the Worldwide Director of IT.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong Organizational skills \xe2\x80\x93 effectively handling multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing, and executing assigned deliverables.
  • Project Management experience including the coordination of 3rd party suppliers and partners.
  • Good knowledge of Communications and Network Concepts such as Routing, VoIP, firewalls, etc.
  • Good ability to identify problems and escalation of problems
  • Good ability to liaise with second-line, vendors, or third-party support groups.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in configuring and administering routers, switches, Access Points, firewalls, and network products (Cisco / Palo Alto/ Ubiquity)
  • Ability to assist and support IT resources remotely.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Chinese (optional).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • College-level degree in IT Discipline
  • 10 years of relevant experience in the IT Field
  • Experience in supporting remote offices
  • CCNP certification is an advantage.
ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Travel may be required (up to 25%) in support of the position\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and fingers to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing this job\'s duties, the employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
