Regional Operations Director The Regional Operations Director (ROD) will be responsible for all operational processes surrounding sourcing, planning and group air specific to the Asia Pacific region. The ROD will provide subject matter expertise surrounding development/enhancement of overall team processes, procedure documentation, development and training, and compliance achievement. The ROD is also responsible for account management through driving strategic business initiatives and optimizing the way we do business with the clients. The ROD is directly accountable to achieve both clients and BCD M&E goals related to: program strategy, innovation & optimization, client retention, contractual obligations, clients’ ROI goals for the program, financial performance, quality of service, preferred vendor performance, technology, program efficiencies and business development. The ROD role is strategically customer-focused and commercially astute. As a core member of the BCD M&E APAC Customer Engagement team, the ROD will contribute to company-level best practice sharing, sales opportunities, organizational education and more. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Operations Management

  • Identify areas of operational consistency and service delivery of all wholly owned and partner markets in APAC.
  • Work in partnership with Regional Account Director to support program operational excellence and expansion into non-participating countries.
  • Assess local operations and provide strategic and tactical recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify trends and impact on annual/program business plans, review accuracy of reporting, benchmark and monitor trends recommending program changes and opportunities based on business intelligence.
  • Oversee/direct expansions/implementations and ensures contractual agreements are implemented.
  • Design and implementation of BCD M&E standard operating procedures (SOPs) that adhere to local, regional and global pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Lead and support the implementation of new client programs within Meetings Management.
  • Oversight of sourcing, HCP and Group Air, planning and compliance functions.
  • Develop training strategy and content for new hires as well as identify knowledge gaps across functional teams specific to role performance and compliance/controls.
  • Responsible for providing in-direct leadership to staff, operational success, and overall customer satisfaction in area of compliance/controls.
  • Continuous review and positive engagement of team feedback/focus groups on processes to identify gaps, overlaps and/or more efficient processes.
  • Be a brand advocate for marketing and consistency to promote BCD standards – branding, presentation, messaging, delivery – and in the general professionalism expected of BCD M&E.
  • Develop client-specific marketing strategies to target program adoption and operational compliance. Ensure regional or country-specific marketing/communications plan fits the needs and budget goals of clients.
  • Assume and perform other duties and responsibilities not specifically outlined herein.
Account Management
  • Overall accountability for the client relationship and contract.
  • Drives strategy and optimization initiatives in partnership with the client.
  • Builds strong relationships both internal (BCD M&E) stakeholders and external stakeholders (Client).
  • Responsible for SLAs, KPIs, client financials and business planning
  • Work with clients to develop business objectives for the regional meetings program. Develop a strategic business plan to achieve objectives, focusing on both clients and BCD M&E program objectives. Track and report progress to goals.
  • Serve as primary point of authority on the terms and deliverables of the client’s contract. Responsible for contract negotiation, management and understanding the terms of the contract(s) to ensure that contractual commitments are continually met. Monitor results on a regional basis and collaborate toward overall global agreements.
  • Plan and execute mid-year and annual strategic account reviews. Drive development, content and quality of reviews prior to the meeting.
  • Take a consultative approach to positioning “value added” products and services. Navigate the pertinent pricing changes needed throughout the life of the contract, as the scope of services change, local cost structures change, etc.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in strategic meeting management.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in operations management, including 3rd party vendor management.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in managing people.
  • Experience working on Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical Accounts preferred.
  • Proficiency in Cvent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
