Qualifications:

Boeing is seeking for a Regional Security Advisor, Southeast Asia to join our Asia Pacific Security Team. Reporting to the Regional Security Leader for the Asia Pacific Region, this position will be based in either Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and will primarily provide security support to Boeing\xe2\x80\x99s operations within Southeast Asia, and, on occasion may provide wider security support to the Asia Pacific region. The successful candidate will implement company policies, processes, procedures, and programs to safeguard people, property, and information and ensure compliance with all necessary Local, National, and Boeing security and fire protection standards and requirements.

This position is suited to an experienced, confident, and self-motivated security professional with a proven ability to interact and communicate effectively in English and any Asian languages, both internally with security colleagues, business units, and other functions and stakeholders, and externally with representatives of local, national and international government agencies, contracted security organizations, industry peers, and through active participation and networking with organizations such as OSAC, ASIS, etc.

The successful candidate should have practical experience in assessing and managing risk and must be able to advise on, and solve, a broad range of activity related to company information security, industrial security, investigations, export compliance, emergency and disaster preparedness, crisis management, travel security, routine office security, event security, support to executive level visits, and other tasks designated by the Regional Security Leader.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Promote and improve the protection of Boeing people, property, and information in a timely and efficient manner
  • Establish and maintain an effective and close working relationship with the Boeing Leadership Team, in Southeast Asia, respective Business Units and supporting functions, and align and prioritize day-to-day tasks in direct support of these business\xe2\x80\x99 security requirements, and review them on a regular basis
  • Develop and implement fit-for-purpose security plans and lead responses to emergencies and crises, acting as the security focal on behalf of the Regional Leader
  • Lead on a range of critical compliance and risk assessments for host nation and corporate customers.
  • Engage with national and local law enforcement, security, and intelligence agencies to facilitate host nations\' security clearance and vetting requirements
  • Provide security, fire and protection expertise to management and cross\xc2\xad functional teams in strategic, tactical, operational and business planning activities, including interfacing with senior leaders on critical security, fire and protection matters.
  • As a matter of routine, the Security Adviser will be a focal for local-to-Southeast Asia guidance and support across a wide range of security and related issues, including, but not limited to:
  • Employee personal safety and threat management
  • Export compliance
  • Journey management and travel security advice and support
  • Event security
  • Business continuity plans and processes
  • Security awareness and education
  • Partnering with stakeholders to select new sites and to facilitate the decommissioning of redundant sites
  • Coordination with Boeing Executive Protection and Executive Flight Operations personnel to support close protection requirements for executives and VIPs, on an as needs basis
  • Other duties as directed by the Regional Security Leader
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Candidates must be able to satisfy the necessary experience, skills, and knowledge of the range of tasks highlighted in the Position Overview and Position Responsibilities above
  • Previous working experience in Southeast Asia is essential
  • Effective communication & presentation skills, sharp business acumen, and the ability to work independently and adapt to ambiguity
  • A strong ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior management, business clients, colleagues, and external parties.This includes advanced presentation, analytical and briefing skills
  • The ability to develop a network of industry contacts, and the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships to achieve business development goals
  • A high degree of multicultural awareness, with a comprehensive knowledge of the political, security and social issues associated with operating in often challenging or volatile risk environments or situations
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • An astute understanding and knowledge of the practices and principles associated with risk analysis and assessment
  • Knowledge of conducting international office/site surveys and assessment and the ability to document the findings in a clear and concise reporting format
  • Information protection skills and a working knowledge of data protection practices in the international community
  • Must be prepared to travel routinely within Southeast Asia in support of Boeing operations, and on an as needs basis throughout the rest of the Asia Pacific region
  • Conversant in English, Mandarin or any other Asian language is highly preferred
Typical Education/Experience
  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and typically 10 or more year\xe2\x80\x99s related work experience, a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree and 8 or more year\xe2\x80\x99s related work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • The candidate will have held a responsible position within a law enforcement, military, or government agency in any Southeast Asia countries, and/or will have a corporate security background for a minimum of 8-10 years.
Relocation
