Regional Senior Accountant*

The Regional Senior Accountant assists the Regional Finance team specifically for Financial Reporting & Accounting as well as Treasury and Tax. This role will be undertaking an important role in supporting establishment of a Centralized Financial Reporting and Accounting for subsidiaries in Asia Pacific.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Process day-to-day transactions and book-keeping duties in accounting system, including GL, AR, AP, employee reimbursements and intercompany journals as well as fixed assets
• Support month-end closing activities, including but not limited to: perform bank account reconciliations, prepare balance sheet schedules and monthly accrual journals
• Propose and document correct account entries and processes for operational / business activities that flow to accounting system
• Liase with external accounting firms to comply with local financial reporting requirements and ensure consistent accounting treatments
• Assist with preparation of documentation and schedules to fulfill audit and taxation requirements
• Interface with Global Financial Reporting/Treasury/Tax team and external accounting firms to ensure that the accounting records, payment transactions, statutory and tax filing are accurate.
• Support cooperation with Global Finance functions to streamline and improve the local finance processes (especially Procure-to-Pay process as well as Travel Expense process)
• Support proper payment process and liquidity planning in close cooperation with Global Treasury function and support projects from a Finance perspective
• Driving system implementation and process improvement project in Expense reporting and Inventory
• Lead Fixed Assets and Inventory physical counts process and implement proper control
• Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned

What you have to offer:

• ACCA/CPA/CA/Degree in Accountancy or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years of accounting/audit experiences, preferable in pharmaceutical industry
• Good understanding of IFRS
• Hands-on with attentions to details, responsible, organized and able to work independently
• Good SAP skills or relevant knowledge in ERP system
• Highly motivated with ability to deal with ambiguities.
• Fluent in written and spoken English & Chinese
• Pronounced team & communication skills
• Tax law experience
• Knowledge related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley-Act) / internal control systems
