Job Description


Reporting to the Director, Procurement APAC HR Services, you will be responsible for leading a Procurement organization; in support of approximately $100 million or less in HR Services spend (key focus on Contingent Labour & Employee services categories) for APAC Johnson & Johnson Companies. This spend is medium to low complex in nature and requires a collaboration with key stakeholders within the business to execute. You will identify, develop, and direct the implementation of Procurement goals and strategy. You will plan and direct the organization\'s activities and deliver against targets for financial performance, quality, and service and compliance adherence.

You will provide Global and Regional Leadership for developing end-to-end category leadership such as category strategy development, maintaining key relationships within the business and managing key supplier relationships. You must shape, connect and lead resources to deliver on key projects.

The scope of responsibilities include:

Category Management

  • Develops the vision, strategy and implementation plan for a specific category or categories of spend that will effectively meet the long term requirements of the business partners and deliver the maximum value for J&J
  • Delivers on financial, service, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth commitments
  • Identifies, develops and directs the implementation of Procurements goals and category strategies, based on deep subject matter expertise and an informal understanding of industry/market dynamics
  • Escalate & resolve issues related to category programs & operations
  • Connects and work with other Regional Procurement Leads / teams and GS Procurement Delivery teams to ensure alignment with the Global category direction and ongoing developments and trends to drive efficiencies and innovation
Stakeholder Management
  • Understands business needs and engage in strategic planning and partnering with business partners to ensure alignment
  • Understands operational considerations, identifies business demand requirements and partners with Business Engagement Leads (BELs) to drive competitive advantage and deliver annual value improvements.
  • Builds and maintains internal relationships that results in dynamic interactive dialogue on a broad range of perspectives critical to the development & communication of category programs & solutions
Supplier Management
  • Interfaces directly with CEOs and other suppliers\' leadership to assure alignment of JNJ\'s objectives, including quality, reliability, innovation and cost.
  • Develops deep strategic relationships with suppliers to include data review and analysis, performance management, end to end value, and innovation to the business
  • Identifies, develops and directs the implementation of Procurements goals and category strategies, based on deep subject matter expertise and an informal understanding of industry/market dynamics
  • Be the day-to-day key point of contact for the strategic suppliers under our Supplier (Relationship) Management (SM) program
  • Primary liaison with the third party Managed Service Provider (MSP) on-site teams and will leverage data, metrics and industry best practices to determine possible areas for improvement and focus
What is required:
  • Minimum qualification: Bachelors degree in Business, life sciences or relevant field.
  • At least 6 years of relevant working experience
  • You being an experienced professional with business experience in multiple roles across a variety of functional specialties including general management, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain or a Technical filed with at least 2 years within a Procurement environment will be ideal
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (Spend Management: Category Management and Supplier Management).
  • Leadership, communication, influencing and collaboration skills are required
  • Able to prioritize requests and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives when necessary
  • Ability to show judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues
  • Customer Orientation (building and maintaining strong relationships with J&J Management)
  • Project management skills
  • Business Acumen
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill
  • Mindset to continuously improve the organization
