Purpose of the position:
DNP Supply Chain Excellence (Manager) for is responsible for driving supply chain performance in the region for all DNP to world class. The DNP Supply Chain Excellence Manager proposes aspirations, co-develops the supply chain roadmap’s together with the Regional Supply Chain Operations & Strategy Director, drives tactical improvements and monitors performance. The DNP Supply Chain Excellence Manager acts as advisor, analyst, trainer and team member to develop standards, KPI’s, trainings and special programs in support of the global supply chain organization and to enable the delivery of the DNP growth and ROCE strategic targets.

Complexity of the position:

  • As a result of the significant amount of acquisitions over the last years and the implementation of the Global Products / Local Solutions strategy, the DNP supply chain network not only got much bigger, but also much more complex. Proper supply chain integration of (part of) the acquisitions and optimization of the supply chain network and processes to support the strategy still have to take place
  • In order to coordinate the development of gap closing actions that are at the intersection of several functional disciplines, this position needs a broad (and in some cases also deep) understanding of Commercial, Technical, Manufacturing-related and Financial aspects.
  • This position operates regionally and needs a great amount of cross-cultural sensitivity



Your key responsibilities
a) Key areas of accountability/responsibility

Drives roadmap delivery and continuous improvement in supply chain:
  • Conduct relevant Performance Diagnostics & Practices Diagnostics Assessments to enable the teams to identify and prioritize improvement potential and decide on next steps;
  • Propose targets on relevant KPI’s for the region unit based upon internal and external benchmarks (e.g. bottom-up target for inventory on all products, PO adherence, Lead times, OTIF);
  • Develop, monitor, and review these targets, and set out action plans improve where appropriate;
  • Co-develop and evaluate supply chain roadmap performance within the region (monthly) and with Corporate Operations (quarterly) in alignment with stakeholders, mitigating risks pro-actively
  • Manage improvement projects and initiatives focused at supply chain tactics, targeted at relevant performance KPI’s (e.g. balancing inventory, lead times and supply).
  • Triggered by the supply chain roadmap initiate, prepare and facilitate local team events and training sessions within the region to enable everybody to be involved in continuous improvement efforts in the region;
  • Implement DNP SC best practices as part of the regional Supply Chain Excellence Roadmap in alignment with the Global SC Excellence Team.


Lead the supply chain excellence team, including:
  • Performance management (PDR cycle)
  • Training & development, Raising the overall capabilities & profile
  • Talent pipe line


Remain up-to-date regarding relevant regulations, guidelines and professional knowledge:
  • Improve the performance of SCM by seeking new opportunities and continually reviewing and implementing improved working practices and processes;
  • Staying up-to-date on progress of the Supply Chain Excellence Roadmap in other regions.


Build and maintain effective internal and external networks;
  • Ensure proper share & learn both within the region and cross-region as part of the virtual Global SC Excellence team of DNP.


Carry out all activities in a responsible way, in line with DSM’s SHE and Triple P values

b) Authorities
1. Regional supply chain improvement plans
2. Propose targets for relevant KPI’s for the region unit (eg. Bottom-up inventory targets)
3. Regional supply chain training plan

c) Projects/special assignments
1. Establish a continuous improvement culture
2. Implement and consciously improve regional supply chain master plan applying actively DICI methods
3. Implement and continuously improve the regional supply chain dashboard
4. Active participation in the execution of DICI in supply chain
5. Various project/special assignments, changing through time and depending on the needs/developments inside DNP


You bring:
Must have:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in SCM field
  • Proven knowledge & experience in project management and continuous improvement practices (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)
  • Understanding Business situation, direction/strategic marketing and finance
  • Understanding how do supply chain and manufacturing work
  • Understand and familiarity with entire goods flow and its key sub-process

Better to have:
  • Experience in change management and human dynamics
  • Broad experience in operations preferably in line management
  • Experience in consulting and policy development
