As Regional Tax Manager, APAC, you are part of the Global Tax Team and will play a key role in partnering with our APAC leadership team in the implementation of tax strategy for the group. About You We\xe2\x80\x99re looking to recruit a Regional Tax Manager, APAC in Singapore, reporting to the Global Head of Tax based in London. This is a varied role for a person who enjoys challenges and is able to work independently in a matrix organization. The expectation is that the individual has a degree in Finance or specializes in Tax with at least 10 years of experience in both consultancy and corporate organization. It is a big plus if you have managed M&A transactions within the region (including China) and have strong business acumen. This role is an individual contributor, and you sit within the Finance team in APAC and you are the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for your function to provide business partnering to the leaders. You should also possess an analytical and growth mindset with a \xe2\x80\x98can-do\xe2\x80\x99 attitude. In addition, a strong command of English and presentation skills are also key attributes to the success of this role. What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Be Doing You are primarily responsible for corporate income tax compliance, reporting of tax, monitoring and management of tax risk, and assisting in the implementation of tax strategy for the APAC group.

  • Responsible for corporate income tax compliance affairs of the ASPAC Group, in conjunction with local tax advisors.
  • Responsible for local reporting of tax for AOP, Forecast, Interim, and Full Year periods.
  • Reviewing the accuracy of tax P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow reporting for the region.
  • Collating the tax data submitted to determine the effective tax rate for the local entities;
  • Contribute to the production of the statutory notes to the local statutory accounts;
  • Liaising with the auditors and controlling the detailed periodic audit activity for the APAC Group;
  • Control environment/activities
  • Tax processes and improvements / \xe2\x80\x9cSOX type\xe2\x80\x9d control environment. These matters underpin tax risk management which needs a framework to address transactional, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Address specific tax exposures (e.g. transfer pricing; permanent establishment) and develop a mechanism to properly monitor the applicability of these rules going forward.
  • Involved in regional M&A activities - tax due diligence, post-acquisition integration (including but not limited to the application of T&L TP policy to newly acquired entities, risk identification, and mitigation, as well as tax control development).
  • Monitor and influence as appropriate the local tax developments in the region
  • Actively support the APAC teams with regard to commercial and operational strategies being pursued by the business

  • Degree in Finance/Tax or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in consultancy and corporate MNC environment.
  • Regional experience is a big plus
  • Good command of English
  • Commercial acumen to understand business drivers behind numbers
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to work with multiple stakeholders in the region
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Able to work independently
