We are hiring for an Underwriter for Casualty treaty business in our Regional Team in Singapore. Reporting to the \'Regional Manager Casualty Treaty\', you will join a highly motivated team and tackle new risk challenges for our globally and regionally active clients. You will underwrite casualty treaty reinsurance business, following the underwriting authorities and client strategies; managing the existing portfolio, developing new business opportunities for the region and for new and innovative products and solutions; ensuring the quality and strategy of underwriting in the department; strong collaboration with our Client Management and other relevant teams; monitoring underwriting performance of responsible portfolios.

Your Job:

• Assuring the quality of technical risk reviews and acceptances, including premium calculation and stipulation of reinsurance conditions observing underwriting guidelines, internal rules, authorities, targets, and client strategies
• Guide and support stakeholders on large accounts and complex structures, including risk analysis, exposure management, pricing, and accumulation control consistent with Munich Re\'s guidelines and risk appetite, including to develop market specific pricing where applicable
• Ensuring the quality and strategy of underwriting within the position\'s area of responsibility.
• Developing new business underwriting solutions and creating strong collaboration to MR Client Management Teams.
• Handling client relations, identifying and developing new business potential and new clients in collaboration with Client Management
• Contributing to, implementing and executing line-of-business, client- and market- strategies (in close collaboration with Client Management)
• Providing training and knowledge transfer in the respective class of business, designing the content of and conducting seminars/workshops for internal and external training courses and participation in events (congresses, market events)
• Participation in projects and in designing individually tailored solutions
• Assuming special tasks, e.g. leading and supporting departmental and cross-departmental working groups and projects
• Lead actuarial driven projects; conduct pricing for underwriters in the region.

Your Profile:

• Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Science
• Qualified Actuary
• Minimum 5 years\' experience in Casualty Treaty (Re)insurance
• Profound risk assessment, pricing & underwriting knowledge and wording know-how in all Casualty classes
• Experience of mentoring and guiding others in actuarial methodologies
• Strong statistics/data warehouse knowledge; familiar with underwriting and pricing tools
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and solution-oriented skills
• Ability to think out of the box and come up with creative solutions
• Strong team player with initiative and a willingness to assume responsibility
• Open minded and keen to learn
• Excellent communication and stakeholders management skills
• Good negotiation and presentations skills as well as cultural awareness for the Asian context
• Excellent spoken and written business English, and ideally bilingual in a major Asian language
