About the Role:

Kemin Food Technologies (KFT) is seeking a highly-motivated individual to help ensure legal and regulatory compliance for new product registrations and KFT's existing product portfolio in multiple markets in APAC & India, as well as maintaining food safety and quality management systems in APAC.

Responsibilities:

This full-time position is primarily responsible for supporting regulatory compliance in product formulations, labels, and literature, assisting in product registration efforts, monitoring and influencing regulatory developments, supporting regulatory efforts in PIP projects and certification/regulatory audits, as well as maintaining food safety and quality management systems.

Job responsibilities:

• Prepare documents for regulatory submissions and assist in preparing more complex submissions to gain product registrations mainly in the APAC & India
• Monitor and keep abreast of competitive patent environment and assist in developing strategies to address patent concerns. Assist R&D in defining the patent field for new PIP projects.
• Determine regulatory requirements and interpret relevant government regulations for KFT's products and raw material ingredients; Manage regulatory compliance for KFT's products and documentation.
• Review and sign-off on Marketing/Sales literature for KFT products (PTP review)
• Serve as RA representative on KFT PIP teams
• Assist in creating and maintaining product labels, product specification sheets, SDS and RA SOPs; Assist in management of product recalls for Kemin products
• Stay current on regulatory developments and trends in the industry that could affect KFT's product line.
• Serve as senior KFT RA representative on government agency inspections and certification audits as needed
• Interact with Regulatory Affairs officials both internally and externally to assure the timely exchange of information.
• Providing support in the development, maintenance and improvement of the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems through SOP development, internal audit and corrective and preventive actions programs.
• Participating in customer audits, certification audits (FSSC 22000 and International Safe Feed/Safe Food), and regulatory inspections relevant to food safety and quality.
• Perform internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality and food safety requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP.
• Coordinating non-conformity and customer complaint investigations and providing resolution.
• Monitoring and coordinating raw material program for quality and food safety concerns, including managing Raw Material Risk Assessments and implementing Quality Plan testing.
• Providing support for new product development including raw material risk assessment and finished product shelf life studies etc.
• Coordinating training for food safety and quality assurance programs.

• At least a bachelor's degree in chemistry, food safety or related science with at least 3-5years in regulatory or quality related industry.
• Experience in regulatory field preferred
• Experience with food safety and quality management systems (ISO, FSSC22000, BRC, SQF, AIB, HACCP, FAMI-QS, GMPs)
• Experience with Food Safety and Quality regulations such as the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), FDA, EPA, etc.
• Must have excellent time management and organization skills, a high energy level, and a passion for quality.
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities; ability to meet challenging timelines; strong prioritization skills.
• Good project leadership skills and ability to persuade and present ideas effectively to different departments are needed.
• Good project execution skills, including planning and meeting timelines are required.
• A high degree of personal motivation along with a desire to make an immediate contribution (sense of urgency).
