Job Description
The National University of Singapore invites applications for position of Research Assistant in the Department of Ophthalmology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointments will be made on a 1 year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.
Purpose of the post
The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the successful completion assigned research projects on time.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Perform stem cell culture work and routine wet lab techniques
- Administrative duties for maintenance of lab inventory and lab purchases.
- Qualifications in Biological Science and Life Science disciplines or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months prior research experience in the Biomedical field
- Experience with mammalian stem cell work
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular biology techniques
- Experience in western blot, qRT-PCR
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated, committed to laboratory work and able to work flexible hours
- Ability to multitask, work independently and also as part of a team
- Good communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
