Job Description

A Research Assistant position is currently available in the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute - Biotechnology.

Key Responsibilities:

Support research work on water sample analysis using targeted and non-targeted chemical analysis techniques and perform routine laboratory techniques \xe2\x80\x93 (water sample preparation, solid phase extraction, calibration curve and quality control standards etc.).

Conduct both target and non-target screening/analysis methods on environmental samples for environmental contaminants.

Prepare and report data for work done

Support laboratory procurement, inventory, maintenance, method optimization and organization.

Assist in daily operational, administrative, and logistics duties related to the research activities.

Support existing research personnel on chemical analysis for current environmental research projects

Job Requirements:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Environmental Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or other related science/life science disciplines

Knowledge and experience on various chemical analysis and operating research instruments are highly preferred (eg. Target analysis using high resolution liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) and non-target analysis using liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-Qtof-MS)

Knowledge and experience in analysis of non-target analysis data is also highly preferred (eg. Agilent MassHunter Quantitative and Qualitative software, Agilent Profinder, Agilent Mass Profiler Professional)

Experience in research projects is a plus
