The Research Assistant will be affiliated to the Baby-LINC Singapore Lab ( ) at the School of Social Sciences. In the lab, we study how babies\xe2\x80\x99 brains \xe2\x80\x9cget in sync\xe2\x80\x9d with adults\xe2\x80\x99 brains during social interaction, and how being synchronised supports learning, using novel methods such as dyadic-EEG.
This incumbent will be supporting the Principal Investigator (PI) for a total of 6 months on the project \xe2\x80\x9cNeural markers of the infant-caregiver interaction and their predictive value for infant\xe2\x80\x99s learning\xe2\x80\x9d, especially in data collection.
This project aims to advance the understanding of how social interactions, both at home and at preschool, influence infant\xe2\x80\x99s development and learning \xe2\x80\x93 which may help to improve infant care in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist PI in implementing a research project
Recruit preschool providers, teachers and families
Collect data of infants, mothers and teachers including EEG recordings, questionnaires, observations and standardized developmental tests
Organize and contribute to webinars for parents and teachers
Support PI in data analyses and delivery of key research outputs, e.g., conference presentations and publications
Assist in related administrative duties
Job Requirements:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Psychology, Education, Neuroscience or a related field.
Experience in EEG acquisition and analysis (preferred)
Experience in conducting clinical-psychological assessments (preferred)
Experience in conducting psychological research with infants / children (desirable)
Proficient in written and spoken command of English
Good project management and organizational skills
Demonstrate strong social and teamwork skills
