The research group of Dzmitry Matsukevich at the Centre for Quantum Technologies, National University of Singapore is looking for a research assistant to join our team in development of ion trap-based quantum processors and quantum simulators. The successful candidate will work on experiments to control the motional states of the trapped ions and applications of such states for quantum simulation and quantum information processing.

The candidate is expected to contribute to every aspect of the group operation, including building and troubleshooting the electronics circuits, performing optical alignment, maintaining experimental control software, analysing experimental data, troubleshooting experimental setup and assisting with administrative tasks.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor\'s degree in physics
  • Good knowledge of physics and ability to apply this knowledge in the lab environment.
  • Prior experience with the experimental research in the field of quantum information or atomic physics is a big plus.
  • Familiarity with Python programming in a scientific environment.
  • Fast learner, able to work independently.
