Assistant Professor Shengxiao (Alex) Li (Urbanism Cluster, Department of Architecture) is looking for a full-time research assistant to join in August 2024 and work on projects related to transportation planning and policy, travel behaviour, and age-friendly urban planning in Singapore, China, and the United States. Potential projects include: examining electric vehicle policies on vehicle adoption in China, text analysis and interviews with practitioners to understand electric vehicle policies in large cities in the United States and Singapore, understanding factors related to electric vehicle adoption in Asia, and using first-and second-hand data to understand travel behaviour and technology usage of older Singaporeans and Americans. The research assistant will meet with Alex regularly and report directly to Alex. Tasks of the research assistant include but not limited to reviewing literature; collecting, cleaning, and analysing data sets; preparing research reports and funding applications; and implementing surveys or interviews. They will also have the opportunity to work with a group of scholars from various disciplines, including but not limited to economics, sociology and social work, and engineering, and co-author on academic papers (depending on the contributions of the person hired for this position)The position is a one-year appointment.
