A Research Associate position is currently available in the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute.Key Responsibilities:The candidate will be undertaking full research work and administrative duties during the term of employment within the following areas:Design, engineering, and test-bedding of working prototypes of chemical reactors for thermochemical conversion of biomass and plastics into valuable productsCatalyst product formulation and testingImprovement of processes for gas conversion into value-added products (e.g., pyrolysis, syngas generation, hydrogen production, carbon nanomaterials synthesis)Prepare technical reports, standard work procedures, risk assessments, and technology descriptions for intellectual property protectionPrepare presentation decks for various audiences (scientific community, industry partners, government agencies, investors)Write and publish research papersSupervise junior colleaguesJob Requirements:M.Sc. Degree in Chemical and/or Environmental Engineering or in a closely related field to Chemical and/or Environmental engineeringExperience in pyrolysis, gasification, heterogeneous catalysis, solid sample characterization, chemical reaction engineering, process engineeringHigh proficiency in English is essential to conduct researchAble to prepare a well-written technical report, research paper, proposalAble to prepare a decent quality presentation deckAble to build formal and informal partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesAble to consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstancesAble to create new and better ways, advance technological progress and make the project successfulAble to develop junior teammates to meet the project goalsGood chemical engineering background, communication skills, initiative, creativity and resourcefulness are essential to succeedWe regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.Hiring Institution: NTU
