The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of a Research Associate on a 12-month contract at the

Project Title: The Singapore Student Digital Literacies Profile [OER 11/22 VLF]

Project Introduction: The objective of this research project is to develop an online questionnaire and produce empirical findings on the digital literacies profile of 200 secondary 3 and primary 5 students in Singapore across genders and socioeconomic backgrounds. We will also examine the digital literacies profiles of secondary 3 and primary 5 boys and girls, as well as across SES. Requirements

Essential:

• Postgraduate degree in linguistics, education, statistics or related fields for Research Associate position
• Skilled in quantitative approaches to research, such as conducting factor invariance tests and survey validation through convergent validity, and multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA)
• Survey design and development experience
• Good interpersonal skills
• Interest in understanding digital literacies and learning

Preferred:

• Record of excellent scientific writing skills
• Familiarity with Singapore school systems
• Experience in explanatory sequential research design

Responsibilities

• Design items for online questionnaire
• Analyze the research data from the study
• Contribute to the dissemination of research findings: conduct literature reviews, prepare academic publications (e.g., conference presentation, paper, book) and research reports
• Perform other tasks as required by the Principal Investigators
