Job Description
A Research Associate in Mathematics position is currently available in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS).

Key Responsibilities:
Geometric Modelling
Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
Structure Preserving Numerical Methods.
Theoretical development in the area of modelling for geophysical fluid dynamics
Numerical implementation of derived models
Analysis and discussion of the results
Writing of scientific articles
Interaction with the members of the research group and researchers in Geoscience
Presentation of the results
Job Requirements:
Master in Mathematics
Basic knowledge in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
Solid knowledge of tools from Differential Geometry (Manifolds and Tensor Analysis, Lie Groups, Geometric Structures)
Solid knowledge of techniques from Structure Preserving Numerical Discretization of ODEs and PDEs
Solid knowledge of programming languages such as Matlab, Python, Fortran, FEniCS, Firedrake.
