NTU College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CoHASS) is a union of four Schools and two Centres the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM), the School of Humanities (SoH), the School of Social Sciences (SSS), the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI), the Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA) and the Centre for Contemporary Art (CCA). We are currently home to more than 6,000 students, as well as faculty, research and administrative staff.We are looking for a Research Associate who will perform a variety of functions related to research under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI).Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in coordinating and running research projectsWork closely with collaborators and third party service providers in conducting researchHelp with data collection for projects related to regional geopolitics and geoeconomic trends and developmentsConduct and interpret quantitative and qualitative data analyses for projects and journal publicationsResearch and writing of short reports on specific developments, trends, patterns in regional affairsActively contribute to preparation of manuscript drafts for peer-reviewed journalsUndertake any additional duties as required by the supervisorJob RequirementsMasters degree in related fieldExtensive media experience as well as the subject interest (Southeast Asian/East Asian politics and/or international relations)Demonstrated experience in research writing through publications in Asian politics, screen writing, research and journalismProficiency with Microsoft OfficeExperience in quantitative data analysis using relevant statistical tools (e.g. SPSS, AMOS) will be preferredAs this is a research role, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills will be preferred. Given the research scope, being fluent in English and knowing Mandarin will be advantageous.Highly motivated and willing to work independently in a multidisciplinary settingInterest in regional security and economics in the Asia-Pacific would be preferredWe regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.Hiring Institution: NTU
