The National University of Singapore invites applications for Medical Physicist in Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC) offers state-of-the-art facilities for Radiopharmacy and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) applied to clinical research. CIRC is the only imaging facility in Singapore dedicated to both clinical and translational research. On-site is an academic cyclotron, PET/CT scanner and PET/MRI scanner dedicated to research. More information on the department is available at . Appointments will be made on a 2 years contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The Medical Physicist will work with a high degree of responsibility and autonomy to provide medical physics services to CIRC and make significant contributions to a range of research areas including: novel PET tracer development and hybrid PET imaging applications to oncology, neurology, cardiology, image processing, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Experience in PET imaging will be an advantage. He/she should also be able to conduct and disseminate their own research. Preferably, he/she will also assist to uphold the radiation safety officer/ coordinator position (20% of the time approximately).

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide scientific and technical support for the development of image acquisition and processing techniques to support the clinical imaging research of CIRC.
  • Provide operational support of imaging equipment including PET/MR, PET/CT scanners as well as auxiliary safety equipment.
  • Conduct and support designated clinical research as required.
  • Conduct and disseminate research and clinical findings through publications, presentations, and seminars.
  • Manage the personnel dosimetry program to monitor the radiation exposure to radiation workers and ensure compliance with University policies and regulatory exposure limits.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the radiation safety training program to ensure that only authorized, qualified individuals work with radiation;
  • Supervise the receiving, storage, inventory recordkeeping and disposal of radiation sealed sources and regulated substances/materials.
  • Service as the administrator for all the application, renewal and recordkeeping of licenses/permits with the relevant national authorities.
  • Review all incident report, provide lessons learnt and recommend improvement.
  • Investigate and implement corrective measures to all reported incidents and accidents.
Qualifications

The applicant should: * Have a Master degree in physics, preferably medical radiation physics and nuclear medicine.
  • Be able to work independently and in a team, have an investigative nature, attention to detail;
