Job Description




Applications are invited for the following full-time position in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health:
Research Associate in Public Health Evaluations

The Health Intervention and Policy Evaluation Research Centre (HIPER) (https://hiper.nus.edu.sg/) at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH), NUS, is seeking to hire an individual with relevant experience to lead and support work in the area of programme evaluations of public health interventions and/or new models of health services delivery.

The candidate will play a critical role in the development of the Centre\'s growing research agenda to support health policy and health services research in Singapore and the region, gaining the opportunity to work with leading experts and policy makers in the field. The successful candidate will be expected to perform research administration, conduct formative and evaluation-driven research and disseminate findings.

As a researcher of the Centre, you will be presented with various opportunities to further develop your skills to ensure personal growth in your career. The role benefits from exposure to many areas of public health ranging from evaluations of patient reported outcomes and experiences to evaluating national strategic plans. You may expect to build professional networks across multiple agencies both in Singapore and beyond.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic and supportive team that enjoys learning and working together, solving real-world problems that will influence health policy decision making and design of health services.

The specific projects that the successful candidate may expect to be involved in include but are not limited to: * Evaluation of a multi-center preemptive pharmacogenetic test clinical implementation pilot using mixed methods

  • Evaluation of an allied-health led, digitally-enabled, patient-centered model of care for AMI (AMI-HOPE) using mixed methods
  • Assessing Burnout in Type 1 Diabetes (A-Budi) using mixed methods
  • Evaluation of the return of secondary or incidental findings to Multi-ethnic Cohort (MEC) studies participants with likely pathogenic/pathogenic genetic mutation variants using mixed methods.
Requirements:
Applicants are expected to have at least a Master degree from an established University, preferably in public health, social sciences with intermediate to advanced understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Applicants with following experiences and skills are preferred:
  • Experience conducting qualitative research, including collection and analysis of focus group / interview and other qualitative methods / data
  • Experience with multi- and mixed-methods research including quantitative programme evaluation designs
  • Good team-player, independent, enjoys working across disciplines and sectors
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, well-organised and meticulous
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications as well as data management and analysis using qualitative data software, preferably Atlas.ti and statistical software R
  • Adept at learning new software packages and online digital systems
The appointed candidate will report directly to A/P Wee, Director for HIPER.

Qualifications
  • Applicants are expected to have at a Master degree from an established University, preferably in public health, social sciences with intermediate to advanced understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
