NUS, Singapore\'s flagship university, and SIA, Singapore\'s flagship carrier, jointly established a 5-year SIA-NUS Digital Aviation Corporate Laboratory (Corp Lab) to create and commercialise innovative technologies that could accelerate the digital transformation of Singapore\'s aviation sector and redefine the air travel experience.
To emerge ahead in today\'s digital transformation era, SIA and NUS will jointly target Revenue Management & Dynamic Pricing (for smart data-driven optimization), Transforming Competency and Skill Development (for intelligent and personalised pilot and cabin crew training), Employee Wellness (for data-driven and scientifically-backed improvements to workforce safety, performance and productivity), and Passenger Comfort, Sleep and Cabin Service (for next-generation product offerings and unparalleled customer service within the cabin).
The Role
SIA-NUS Digital Aviation Lab at the National University of Singapore (NUS) offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Research Associate in Work Package 4. The work package focuses on developing innovations in the following key strategic areas related to passengers\' inflight experience, mainly in Enhancements to SIA\'s Cabin Seat Product Offerings, Novel Features for SIA\'s Next Generation Aircraft Cabins for Sleep Improvement and Pushing SIA\'s Superior Customer Experience to New Heights with an Advanced Connected Cabin.
The sleep team within the SIA-NUS Digital Aviation Corporate Laboratory consists of members from the Duke-NUS Chronobiology and Sleep Laboratory, and the team studies the effects of sleep and circadian rhythms on human performance and physiology. The research associate will assist in running research study protocols, including studies on the effects of sleep behavior on comfort, wellbeing, and physiologic responses. Technical responsibilities include applying EEG electrodes, collecting and/or processing biological specimens, operating study equipment, monitoring progress of research protocols, and administering computer-based neurobehavioral tests to research subjects. Additional roles include subject recruitment, data analysis, and preparing reports and manuscripts.
