The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
Join the laboratory of Franxc3xa7ois Gay-Balmaz at SPMS. We are seeking a Research Associate/ Research Fellow to contribute to a project focused on Geometric modelling and discretization of interconnected thermodynamic systems.
Key Responsibilities:
The Research Associate/ Research Fellow will make research in several of the following topics:
Geometric Modelling
Geometric Discretization
Interconnection of Thermodynamic Systems
Theoretical and Numerical Developments
Job Requirements:
Master/PhD degree in Mathematics with research experience in several of the areas listed below:
Geometric structures and their applications to mechanics, fluid dynamics, elasticity, thermodynamics
Modeling in fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
Numerical methods for partial differential equations (PDEs)
Structure preserving methods
Coding skills
