Research Engineer (battery Research Developing High Power Na Ion Battery)

Job Description




Project involves developing positive electrode, negative electrode and electrolytes for the fabrication of either coin cell or commercial (18650 or pouch) type Na-ion cells. Research Engineer will assemble the Na-ion cells, test and characterize various electrodes at different testing conditions.

Research Engineers will also assist other colleagues including the Research Fellow and Research Associate in this project involved in materials synthesis especially in large scale (2-4kg/batch) their characterization and fabrication of large format battery cells. Materials synthesis is usually through solution approaches or by solid state reaction. Commercial type 18650 cells will be assembled in the prototype lab that is set up at NUS.

Qualifications

  • BE or BSc (Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or Science (Physics and Chemistry) with research experience on materials synthesis and characterization.
  • Proven experience in large scale materials synthesis with proper optimizations will be given priority.
  • Minimum five years of experience in the industry as Process Engineer.
  • Encourage those who are keen to work in the industry type projects.
