The Department of the Built Environment at the National University of Singapore is seeking a researcher to work on a funded research project that designs a human-centric personalised desk cooling system. The aim of this research is to develop a modular, flexible, and human-centric personalised ventilation system that considers user experience, product scalability, and building performance. This job mainly focuses on building performance simulation, measurement and validation. In particular, this job shall follow the design and technical specifications from the project team and conduct the airflow simulation of the building-to-desk air distribution system to ensure thermal comfort, indoor air quality, and energy performance.
Job Requirements
Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Technology or a related field
Demonstrated proficiency in airflow simulation using computational fluid dynamics (CFD);
Demonstrated experience in using building energy simulation tools such as EnergyPlus;
Familiarity with design of simulations/experiments;
Good time management and planning;
Assist with project management tasks;
Good scientific writing, communication and learning skills;
Team player attitude.
