Job Description
:The Research Engineer will be responsible for hands-on and implementation tasks to support the PERFLEXO research project. His/her core responsibilities are:
- Take over from the previous Research Engineer the building of "wrappers" for scientific code into publicly usable packages so that PERFLEXO algorithms can be freely/easily used and tested by the industry and the academic community
- Perform dataset preparation, code execution, performance recording and preliminary technical writing to support the PI\'s basic research under this project, especially with regards to the ACM TODS submission/revision.
- Minimum a 4-year Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or closely related disciplines from a reputable institution of higher education
- A thesis must have been completed (e.g., Bachelor\'s thesis) since this is a research post and thus some basic prior experience of working in a concrete research project of non-trivial scale (such as in a thesis) would be needed
- Knowledge of C, Java and MATLAB programming languages
- Some prior experience of working in a concrete research project of non-trivial scale (such as in a Bachelor thesis)
- Good analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivation, ability to work independently and also collaboratively with team members
