Job Description
The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Engineer I.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work on a project to 3D print and investigate a novel assembly system
- Collaborate and assist in the development of a novel assembly system
- Help with simulations and test experiments
- Write up reports and give presentations on findings
B.Eng or B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or related field
Knowledge in Mechanics of Materials, Metallurgy, Microstructural Characterization and/ or Additive Manufacturing
Familiarity with microstructure characterization is an advantage
Familiarity with Failure of Metals/ composites is an advantage
Knowledge in Manufacturing Technologies is an advantage
Publication track record is an advantage
Self-motivated, independent and can work well in a team
Excellent knowledge in structural materials and materials science
Excellent written and verbal communication in the English language is expected.
