Job Description

We are looking for a research engineer to perform data quality control, data processing and data assimilation of radar data for weather prediction purposes. The role will focus on data quality control and assimilation.
The job will include research work on radar data quality control. Study and research on the science behind the radar reflectivity and its relationship with actual rainfall rate. These radar data is useful for data assimilation for weather prediction purposes. The work will also involve the learning of data assimilation software and the integration of radar data into the data assimilation software.
Interested party should have a strong interest in weather-related research and data processing and should be keen on pursuing further studies.
Key Responsibilities:
Radar data processing
Radar data quality control
Radar data to rainfall rate derivation
Data assimilation
Integration of radar data into data assimilation
Report and publication writing
General administrative duties such as purchasing, liaising, networking, field work.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor qualification degree in Engineering or computer science or related field
At least 1 years of relevant experiences in data assimilation and data processing
Familiarity with data assimilation and data processing
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in programming and analysis
Competent in data analysis and quality control
Ability to work independently and as a team member
