As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry-partnered Ignition research project where you will be part of a collaborative team exploring innovative ways of characterizing the physical and rheological properties of liquid personal care products and understanding the impact of these properties in product design and process development.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will perform shear and extensional rheological characterization of a large variety of liquid personal care products including lotions, topical oils, and more. We will explore innovative and emerging methods of rheological characterization and analyzing rheological data to extract material parameters to build a database of materials. Working with our industrial partner we will establish an understanding of rheological properties that are useful for product formulation and process design related to lab and larger scale extrusion/dispensing applications.More specific responsibilities include:
