Research Fellow (additive Manufacturing, Machine Learning, Simulations)
Job Description
The Research Fellow will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) to investigate the functionality of support structures and their effects on the end-product quality fabricated using metal additive manufacturing. The duties of this position include:
- Carrying out literature reviews
- Planning and executing experiments
- Designing of additive manufacturing parts
- Developing simulations or data driven models for metal additive manufacturing processes
- Analysing and interpreting the experimental data collected
- Writing progress reports, research publications and general documentation of results.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or related fields
- Experience with metal additive manufacturing (eg. powder bed fusion)
- Experience with thermal modelling for additive manufacturing
- Experience with mechanical testing and material characterisation will be advantageous
- Knowledge of design for additive manufacturing will be advantageous
