Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP) in School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Fellow.
Key Responsibilities:
Focus on developing new hybrid aqueous electrolytes that are will render better stability to the electrode materials and interface and higher voltage window than pure aqueous electrolytes. Comprehensive characterization will be conducted which encompasses in-situ set up and DFT calculation and/or MD simulation.
Provide support to the research group on related experiments, including equipment procurement, set up battery fabrication lines
Develop new proposals based on the results of this project
Provide support to the management of lab and project issues, including equipment procurement, battery fabrication lines and final reports
Make regular progress report to PI
Job Requirements:
Ph.D. Degree in either material sciences or applied physics from QS top100 universities
Demonstrated track-record of scientific productivity (journal publications, patents, etc) on the topic of aqueous batteries
Highly motivated and keen to undertake grand challenges in multidisciplinary subjects
Able to conduct the project independently without heavy training or supervision
Good team player who is capable and willing to provide supports in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. He/she will provide support to the management of lab infrastructure, safety, mentoring junior members, and writing final reports.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
