Job Description




The successful candidate will work with Associate Professor CHEW Fook Tim under a project on Genetic Improvement of Indoor Farming Crops.

The main responsibilities of the position include:

  • Germplasm evaluation and assessment
  • Key Phenotypic Definition and Evaluation
  • Characterization of Genetic Control
  • Cultivar Development
  • Integration of Genomic Data into Cultivation Processes
  • Multi-Location Trial Evaluations
  • Further Value Chain Assessment and Development
Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:
  • Hold or is going to obtain a PhD and have relevant experience in related areas.
Skills:
  • Able to code in R, perform statistical analysis relating to Genome-wide Associations Studies, eQTL analysis, Differential Gene Expression, Global Methylation Analysis, Mendelian Randomization, and Genomic Selection.
  • Strong motivation and leadership in pursuing challenging scientific questions.
  • Able to work well with interdisciplinary colleagues.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good time and resource management skills.
Experience:
  • Candidate with experience in the relevant field would be given priority.
  • Experienced in crop cultivation and breeding.
  • Experienced in mentoring and training junior researchers.
