The Translational Materials Innovation Group, led by Professor Nam-Joon Cho, has world-leading expertise in multiple research areas, such as antimicrobial strategies, lipid membrane platforms, membrane-active compounds, antibacterial and antiviral applications, plant-based bio-material applications, etc.

The Biosensor Innovation group, led by Professor Shlomo Yitzchaik, has world-leading expertise in multiple research areas, such as material science, surface chemistry, and biosensors for small molecules, enzymes, neurons, bacteria, and viruses. We are looking to hire a Research Fellow. The candidate shall work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, who will be most of the time via remote supervision, to conduct research work as follows:

Key Responsibilities:

• Collects and prepare data/ information/ proposal required for relevant grant call process
• Conducts experiments related to electrochemical biosensing and surface characterization
• Assists in interpreting and applying processes and procedures to conduct/monitor project progress
• Gathers information/ data and prepare documents for reporting/ papers
• Assists in and delivers training and coaching new members with relevant laboratory/ technical skills
• Report remotely to the PI and travel to Israel for training

Job Requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in Bioengineering/Materials Science/Chemistry
• Strong experimental skills, especially in self-assembled monolayers, surface fabrication and characterization, and associated methods
• Excellent communication and organizational skills while hard-working and able to meet tight deadlines
• Able to work independently in gathering information/ data and preparing documents for reporting/ papers
• Willing to contribute to team services like sharing/ coaching new members with relevant laboratory/ technical skills
