The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.
Key Responsibilities:
Design the adhesion/integration interfaces for Wearable & Flexible electronic devices according to the hard/soft integration interfaces found in nature (e.g., these interfaces with gradient modulus deigns)
Conduct mechanical analysis and modeling of the decohesion of the adhesion/integration interfaces from skins to provide design guidelines for the design and optimization.
Perform numerical simulations (e.g., Finite Element Simulations) to support the fabrication of adhesion/integration interfaces and to facilitate the design modifications for specific applications.
Choose the proper materials systems (such as polymers or hydrogels) with a large range of tunable modulus to fabricate the designed interfaces.
Characterize the adhesion performance of the adhesion/integration interfaces on various substrates including the phantom/human skins
Fabricate and integrate Wearable & Flexible electronic devices on human skins utilizing the developed interfaces to monitor the human body signals
Publish research results in reputable international journals.
Mentoring undergraduate students on their FYP/URECA projects
